Day 1: Once upon a time Olympia...

Activity 1: Let’s imagine that you were alive 2792 years ago and invited to compete in the first ever ancient Olympic Games. Which of these events: running, wrestling, boxing, pankration, horse racing and pentathlon would you compete in? Click on the name of the sport and it will take you to a site that tells you about the sport. On your blog tell us which sport you would choose and why you chose it.

This is Activity 1:

Out of Running, Wrestling, Boxing, Pankration, Horse Racing and pentathlon I would compete in running because I think that I'll be better at running then any other sports.

Learning Power / Kiwi Can

Rendered Image
Every Mondays I go to Kiwi Can with my maths teacher Miss McLeod.
Our Teachers are Riki and Katie.

Our Leader Riki and Katie asked us what we did in the weekend. My friend Aroha said that she went to the Movies.  Then it was my turn to speak.
I said that Aroha and I went to the movies.
After everyone told Riki and Katie their awesome weekend we started our catchphrase.
“Kiwi Can says do the right thing when nobody's watching”
After our catchphrase Katie said
“What is our module ?”
We all had to yell it out “INTEGRITY”!
After our module we played a game called Dino ball. With Dino ball Riki said that you have to tuck your arms in and throw it to a buddy and if you don’t catch it you're out. I got out a couple of times. It was pretty tough when we played the next game because Katie told us to catch with 3 fingers.
“Now we are going to play Positive or Negative role models,” Riki said.
For the game we had to look at the face that Riki showed us and line up.  The end by the stage was a positive role model and the end of the hall was Negative role models.
There was about 7 faces.

After our awesome game of Negative and Positive we did GKQ (General knowledge Questions.)
With GKQ Riki  , Katie or your teacher will  ask you a question and the first one to do the buzzer and action has to answer. After we get the question right we have to clap our hands and say GKQ.
After GKQ we move onto our points.
This week we got 16 ½.

With Kiwi Can I find it amazing because they teach me a lot about how to help people.

If Only

For Reading my group is reading the story called If only.
We changed the way to how we get our work done. So now we get points.
If we get number 1 done and our teacher checks it we get 1 point.
So my group had to get a total of 27.

10pts. How good the story is -

  • CHARACTERS  -  (4)   I gave it a 4 because we don’t know much about them. All we know is he lives down the road. The author could have made the characters more interesting by describing them and more detail.
  • STORY STRUCTURE - (9) I gave it a 9 because it has really good structure and the ending was satisfying but it didn’t have that much to it.
  • LANGUAGES FEATURE - (10) I gave it a 10 because the author did use interesting words like - The obliging giraffe, Huge bull elephant and more.
  • THEME -  (7 ½) I gave it a 7 ½  because it’s important that you don’t use dangerous things near people

1pts. Character Web -

1- He screamed off crying with his hand over his eye blood pouring everywhere.

2- He screamed off running down the street with his hands covering his eye when blood is pouring everywhere.
